Hazel teaches a monthly workshop with a different theme as the focus of the day in venues which offer a peaceful and surrounded by green space to enhance the days escape. Venue directions are lower on this page. Details for holiday in France and Cotswolds weekend are on the Yoga Holidays page.
A workshop is a great way to deepen your enjoyment of yoga. The day offers the time to experiment and hone techniques that a weekly class just does not allow for. Many students describe the workshops as a rare treat, giving themselves some 'me - time'. The groups are small and held in quiet locations with green space around. Directions are given further down page.
Wear usual comfortable stretch friendly clothing but maybe easy layers to allow for the changing tempo of the class. Please bring your mat, blanket/towel and cushion and an open mind! Likewise any yoga equipment you have, though I have some to lend. Some equipment available for purchase if would like your own blocks, belts etc. You are advised to eat (ideally two hours before class) a small breakfast and bring a light lunch to share.
Opening the heart centre, Anahata chakra, can lift your spirits and move our energies from the winter into Spring. We encourage the breath in deeper and give ourselves an energy boost with energetic, flowing poses. The day will balance yoga postures and sequences, include still time for breath work with relaxation and meditation.
To actively expand the front body counterbalances the hunched posture we so often adopt in our working time at desk, computer &/or driving. The heart is at the center of our energetic system, focus on Anahata develops our feelings of empathy and compassion. A days’ heart yoga allows us to reconnect with ourselves, giving our heart, body and mind a chance to relax and renew. £35.00
St. Ethelwold’s House, Abingdon. This day will concentrate on the energy centers or chakras as key to your yoga practise. We will begin to discover the unseen energetic system, bringing together our physical and ethereal selves; working mindfully to enhance and deepen our yoga and understanding. The tempo of the day undulates combining asana with pranayama (breath) and times of stillness and relaxation. We close with lead meditation using colour & chakra imagery. Lunch included £45.00. NB a few places still available.
My students are welcome to invite their children to bring their Mum, Dad, Guardian or Grandparent along to a one off yoga session. Dependant on bookings I split the Children into different age groups with session suitable for their attention span and abilities. The youngest from 4 years old have story telling and make believe. Older kids have a session similar to adult classes but much more fun with sticking tongues out in Simhasana or trying to balance as a tree together.
Please email Hazel if you are interested with age of child/children. The date and venue to be confirmed once numbers are secure.

Explore your yoga from the inside out, rather than the final shape, we will build the poses on the breath and feel how the muscles work and thus asana unravels. This deeper yoga is supported with using the bandhas or muscles locks.
St Ethelwold’s House, Abingdon. Mindfulness while moving and in stillness. We will be learning flowing breath led sequences and how to approach asana with mindfulness. We will begin the hardest lesson in yoga: how to find ways of sitting in stillness. Introduction to demystify the various techniques and styles, a chance to try to find what suits you be it watching breath, using sight or sound. Beginning the process to sit with ease does eventually lead us into meditation. Lunch included.
