Yoga and Relaxation Holiday

Do get in touch if you would like to know about a yoga holiday next year in 2021. Photos from previous years below for inspiration in France and Italy.

Last year, June 2019, we returned to Yoga Soliel and our great hosts Alison, yoga teacher, and husband Chris, whose cooking is such a treat.

Find yourself with daily yoga

The joy of a full week of yoga is that it gives us time to unravel poses and deepen our experience. Pair work allows the poses to develop and relaxation, pranayama and meditation enhance our holistic yogic being.

Our usual programme of Yoga throughout the week

Arrive for supper or settle in from 4pm

Six mornings of Hatha yoga before breakfast

Afternoon longer workshop sessions

Smaller group with time for pranayama and meditation

Sharing the calm and stillness of this rural centre

Full board except one shared lunch and one evening meal at local café.

Hatha yoga to inspire and revive us. Always options to challenge or to ease off and modify. The yoga will be tailored to each participant, with moving sequences and postures, relaxation, breathing and meditation.

Arrive with the welcome yoga session after supper. Let go of the week, release away your journey, and settle in. Start each the day with yoga at 8am before breakfast. Unravel deeper with longer sessions in the cool of the afternoon and a couple of evening sessions and meditation session.

Enjoying time to Relax

Take time to unwind, read, or be active. The grounds and pool gives space to stay local. There are local walks taking us up into the hills. A beautiful lake just 2km up the road, in 2019 a couple of students challenged their balance and core control on paddle-boards! Also wild swim in the river that runs along the property side rather than the pool.

Taking a picnic lunch our group in 2018  enjoyed the panoramic view top of the walk.

We always organise trips out, maybe to wander the local market, and taste the local cuisine, or further afield to the historical town and place of interest.

Simply enjoy the warmth of the sun by the pool, or in the dappled shade. Plenty of places to read or chat or snooze. Strong French coffee with breakfast and selection of tea is available throughout the day.

Extra TLC

Each center has a qualified Masseur so treat yourself to a massage or therapy to enhance your yoga and relaxation. Want a longer escape? Then do add extra nights bed and breakfast to make the most of the area.

Stunning views from the pool. We arrived in torrential rain but cleared for a lovey week of yoga, swimming and walking locally and trip to Atri town in hills.

Summer 2014
Our Yoga holiday here in 2014 was a great week of yoga with the warmth and of care of our hosts, Stephanie and Rupert, in their joyful yoga centre.

UK Retreat with chance to blow away the cobwebs

A weekend here in UK allows concentrated yoga with time to relax with link minded folk. Always time to explore locally and maybe enjoy alfresco pose mid walk.

Yoga outside might be a bit early in chilly March for bare feet!

This was our weekend in Somerset in Autumn 2014 & 15. We need to find a similar centre not too far to travel from Oxford but able to walk on the beaches? Do get in touch if you would like to enjoy a weekend in 2020?

Tuscany 2009

Contrast of two weeks in June 2009 we enjoyed one week with families and one adults only, both with the warmth of Italy. The villa within the vine-yards of Tuscany has been a hard act to follow but feedback highlighted the need for a peaceful place with a dedicated yoga space as top of our ‘wish list’.

Sunset over the villa

The weeks both made the most of the area with some excursions locally, and on our doorstep olive oil and wine tasting and a Tuscan feast prepared by Marta in the ‘slow cooking style’ typical of the area. So if the opportunity to enjoy daily yoga inspires you to come to a peaceful and (weather permitting) warm location do come and join us.

The first week girls dress for dinner while Marta adds the finishing touches. Some comments from the two weeks of Yoga Holidays in June 2009:

“We had such a relaxed and happy time – thank you!” Jan, Tim & Tori
“I loved the daily yoga and the guided meditations. All-in-all a prefect holiday” Cathy
“I liked the small group teaching in afternoon, with more chance to ask questions and get individual attention.” Heather
