Yoga and Relaxation Holiday
Sunday 16 to Sunday 23 June 2019
Join us for full week of yoga give us time to unravel poses and deepen our experience. Pair work allows the poses to develop and relaxation, pranayama and meditation enhance our holistic yogic being. The dedicated yoga studio is a lovely space, full of natural light and upper level has covered outside area for warm weather that June should give us. The mixed ability class offers variations and modifications. Yoga mats, blocks, belts and bolsters are provided to ease travel.
Relax as full board with three meals a day, except we all share a picnic lunch and go out one night to local café. Fresh home cooked meals, with a Mediterranean slant and, where possible, locally sourced, with free range eggs a must. Breakfast after morning yoga offers a variety. Lighter lunches with delicious fresh selection of salads. Evening meals include salads, plus warm goat’s cheese or another light starter, perhaps followed by roast vegetables, aubergine parmigiana (this was voted favourite dish, although all of Chris’ are winning dishes!), lentil and sweet potato ‘shepherd’s pie’, Nepali style dal bhat, courgette and Turmeric risotto. A tempting dessert or fresh fruit salad to follow. One evening out at the local restaurant enables us to try out local food and gives chef a well-deserved night off!
Yoga throughout the week
- Arrive for supper or settle in from 4pm
- Six mornings of Hatha yoga before breakfast
- Afternoon longer workshop sessions
- Smaller group with time for pranayama and meditation
- Sharing the calm and stillness of this rural centre
- Full board except one shared lunch and one evening meal at local café.
Hatha yoga to inspire and revive us. Always options to challenge or to ease off and modify. The yoga will be tailored to each participant, with moving sequences and postures, relaxation, breathing and meditation. Ease in to the stay after supper with the welcome session, gentle moving and lead relaxation. Let go of the week, release away your journey, and settle in. Start the day with yoga at 8am before breakfast. Unravel deeper with longer sessions in the cool of the afternoon and a couple of evening sessions and meditation session.
Enjoying time to Relax
Take time to unwind, read, or be active. The grounds and pool gives space to stay local. There are local walks taking us up into the hialls. A beautiful lake just 2km up the road where groups can rent paddle-boards or kayaks. Alison has offered to lead a paddle-board yoga class which is a lot of fun, if anyone was interested.
We can also organise trips out to the local market or further afield to the Roman Pont du Gard. We plan to catch a train to visit the Roman remains and shops in Nimes.

Treat yourself to a massage or therapy to enhance your yoga and relaxation. Want a longer escape? Then do add extra nights bed and breakfast to make the most of the area.
Getting to Yoga Soliel
Travel is not included but free transfer from local train station Grand Combe.
Lots of options to get here. Request details of suggested flights and local cab firms. Happy to arrange shared cost for group from Marseille airport with shared minibus to the Chateau. Cheaper flights with Ryan air to Nime, with shorter train journey.

Our Yoga holiday here in 2014 was a great week of yoga with the warmth and of care of our hosts, Stephanie and Ruperts’ in their joyful yoga centre. Do join us for the yoga holiday another year!

Yoga Holiday with Brunch and Selfcatering – Ardeche and Tuscany
Stunning scenery invited great walks, the yoga lessons a perfect balance to stretch tired legs in 2010!

The ‘local’ offered simple 4 course meal of the day, always tasty fresh local food.
Contrast of two weeks in June 2009 we enjoyed one week with families and one adults only, both with the warmth of Italy. The villa within the vine-yards of Tuscany has been a hard act to follow but feedback highlighted the need for a peaceful place with a dedicated yoga space as top of our ‘wish list’.

The weeks both made the most of the area with some excursions locally, and on our doorstep olive oil and wine tasting and a Tuscan feast prepared by Marta in the ‘slow cooking style’ typical of the area. So if the opportunity to enjoy daily yoga inspires you to come to a peaceful and (weather permitting) warm location do come and join us.
